About the Fragrance
Originally introduced by Houbigant in 1988, Demi-Jour is a soft floral aldehyde built around violet, iris and a layered bouquet of rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang and heliotrope. This example comes from the later Dana production period, retaining the fragrance’s distinctive powdery floral character. The opening combines bergamot, green notes, aldehydes and violet before moving into a fuller floral heart. Cedarwood, sandalwood, oakmoss and musk give the drydown a gentle woody depth without overwhelming the florals. Vintage reviewers frequently describe Demi-Jour as powdery, softly warm and elegant rather than overtly heavy.
