Returns & Refunds Policy
Thank you for shopping with Scent Reminiscent. We want customers to feel confident when purchasing from us, especially as many of our products are vintage, discontinued, rare, older-formula, pre-reformulation or limited-availability fragrances. Please read this policy before placing an order.
Nothing in this Returns & Refunds Policy affects your statutory rights.
1. Your Right to Cancel
If you purchase from us online, you usually have the right to cancel your order within 14 days after receiving the goods, without giving a reason.
After notifying us that you wish to cancel, you generally have a further 14 days to return the goods to us.
To request a cancellation or return, please contact Hello@ScentReminiscent.com and include your order number, name, email address and the item you wish to return.
2. Return Eligibility
To be eligible for a change-of-mind return, the item must be returned in the same condition in which it was received.
Items must be unused, unopened where applicable, complete and in resaleable condition. Any original packaging, seals, labels, batch codes, boxes, inserts, caps, atomisers, unique SKU labels and other identifying features should remain intact.
We reserve the right to refuse a refund, or make a reasonable deduction from the refund, where an item has been used, sprayed, opened, damaged, tampered with, altered, partially consumed or returned in a condition that reduces its resale value, where permitted by law.
This does not affect your statutory rights if the item is faulty, damaged or not as described.
3. Perfumes, Decants, Samples and Hygiene
Decants, samples, sample sets, and hand-decanted fragrances may be prepared specifically for the customer after an order is placed. Because these items are made to order and supplied for personal use, we do not accept change-of-mind returns, cancellations, exchanges or refunds for decants, samples, sample sets or hand-decanted fragrances once the order has been prepared, fulfilled or dispatched.
This does not affect your statutory rights. If a decant, sample, sample set or hand-decanted fragrance arrives damaged, leaking, incorrect, materially different from the product ordered, or faulty, please contact us promptly at Hello@ScentReminiscent.com with your order number and clear photographs of the issue.
For the avoidance of doubt, a fragrance will not be treated as “not as described” simply because the customer does not like the scent, expected a different scent profile, expected better longevity or projection, dislikes how it smells on their skin, or has compared it subjectively with another bottle, memory, batch or formulation.
4. Reporting Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Items
Please inspect your order as soon as possible after delivery.
If your item arrives damaged, faulty, incorrect or not as described, please contact us promptly at Hello@ScentReminiscent.com.
Please include your order number and, where possible, clear photographs of the item, packaging, shipping box, labels and any damage or issue.
We may require photographs or further information to assess the issue and resolve it appropriately.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
5. Vintage, Rare and Discontinued Fragrances
Many products sold by Scent Reminiscent are vintage, discontinued, rare, older-formula, earlier-packaging or pre-reformulation fragrances.
Due to age and previous storage history, vintage and discontinued fragrances may show natural changes, including colour changes, evaporation, altered top notes, changes in scent profile, box wear, label wear, seal wear, cosmetic wear or packaging imperfections.
Where these characteristics are described or visible in the product listing or photographs, they are considered part of the nature and condition of the item and are not automatically treated as faults.
Customers should review all photographs and descriptions carefully before purchasing.
6. Return Process
Please do not send items back without contacting us first.
To start a return, email Hello@ScentReminiscent.com. Once your request has been reviewed, we will provide return instructions, including where to send the item.
Unsolicited returns may not be accepted, especially where we cannot identify the order or verify the returned item.
7. Return Postage
For change-of-mind returns, the customer is responsible for return postage unless we agree otherwise.
If an item is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, we will advise you on the appropriate return process.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that returned items are packaged safely and securely. We recommend using a tracked and insured postal service, as we cannot be responsible for items lost or damaged in return transit.
Perfumes may be subject to postal and courier restrictions. Customers must ensure that any return shipment complies with the carrier rules for sending fragrances.
8. Refunds
Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will notify you of the outcome.
If the return is approved, we will process the refund to your original payment method.
Refunds will usually be processed within 14 days of us receiving the returned goods, or within 14 days of receiving evidence that the goods have been sent back, where applicable.
For eligible cancellations, we will refund the product price and the standard delivery charge paid at checkout. If you selected a premium or expedited delivery service, we are only required to refund the equivalent cost of standard delivery.
We may make a reasonable deduction from the refund where the item has been handled, used, damaged, opened, sprayed, tampered with or returned in a condition that reduces its value, where permitted by law.
9. Order Changes and Cancellations Before Dispatch
If you need to change or cancel your order before dispatch, please contact us as soon as possible at Hello@ScentReminiscent.com.
We will try to assist where possible. However, if the order has already been processed, packed, dispatched or fulfilled, we may not be able to amend or cancel it before delivery.
10. SKU, Weight and Authenticity Checks
To protect customers and maintain the authenticity of our stock, we may check returned items against our original order records.
Returned items may be checked for weight, SKU, batch code, packaging condition, fill level, seals, labels, photographs and other identifying features.
If we believe an item has been used, altered, switched, tampered with, damaged or returned in a different condition from how it was supplied, we reserve the right to refuse the return or make an appropriate deduction from the refund, where permitted by law.
